Inskriptioner
Dansk: Afbildning paa det høytidelige og for alle troe Undersaater høystglædelige / Syn, da vor allernaadigste Dronning Carolina Mathilda / holdt sit Indtog i den Kongelige Residentz-Stad Kiøbenhavn / den 8 November Ao 1766
Kom, see, o Landsmand! see et Syn, som kand indtage
Vor Dronninge Majestet, vor Konges Engle-Mage
Sit Indtog holder nu til Kongens Christiansborg.
Hvorfra forsvunden er den gamle mørke Sorg
O see, hvor Hjertets Fryd giør Ansigterne milde
English: Depiction of the solemn and for all faithful subjects highly joyous / sight, when our most gracious Queen Carolina Mathilda / made her entry at the city of the royal residence Copenhagen / 8th November Anno 1766
Come, look, O compatriot! Look, what a sight, which endears:
the majesty of our Queen, the angelic spouse of our King,
her entry at the king's Christiansborg.
Where the past dark sorrow has disappeared,
O look how the joy of the heart makes faces mild
by this angelic sight, that Carolin' Mathilde
graces Copenhagen by her presence
and brings life and joy to the subjects.
O delight, Denmark! by that perfect happiness!
O Norway, come assist in expressing our joy:
look at the house of the king, and sing about the Nordic plan of happiness;
only angels can come to us from England.
Our "long live" shall sound today and all coming days:
Long live king Christian! Long live his angelic spouse!
God grant strength to such a high and holy bond
which is bound for our comfort by the hand of divinity!

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
