De diskuterede det i et meget tidligt interview med det skotske blad, Is This Music?. "Mainly we just liked the way it sounded," udtalte Bob Hardy. "We liked the alliteration." "He was an incredible figure as well," fortalte Alex Kapranos. "His life, or at least the ending of it, was the catalyst for the complete transformation of the world ... he was a pivot for history. But I don't want to over-intellectualize the name thing. Denne single kom med en anden sang, "All for You, Sophia", baseret attentat på Ærkehertug Ferdinand og sin kone, hvis navn var Sophie Chotek, ikke Sophia. Bandet valgte navnet ShophiaSophia, da det synes det lød bedre.
