Ordet har engelsk oprindelse. Et band består af to eller flere musikere, der spiller på samme - eller på forskellige instrumenter, evt. ledsaget af sang. Et band med over tolv musikere kaldes et [[bigband]]. Af øvrige underkategorier kan f.eks. nævnes: Brassband, danseband, steelband, jazzband, rockband, coverband... ~~Michael Hurup Jensen (Drums & Programming)~~ Vaylon has a long history, that begins in the early 90´es, where the old friends, Ole and Dan, started to fiddle around with music. Bands such as Depeche Mode, Erasure, Camouflage and other related synthbands, spawned a deep love for the synth genre and also a desire to play this kind of music. But with the lack of synthesizers and equipment to back up the boys, they simply began to play rock music. So, high on enthusiasm and rock star dreams, they began to record music, with a few tape recorders. Guitar, bass and a small drum machine were the only instruments used. The feedback was great, and the guys were high on hopes. But everything has an end, and they got separated in 1995, due to family and other obligations. Since then, the technology has improved to the better, and the equipment has become far more accessible for the common man. This means, that they are now ready to invade the electronic scene, with a constellation of catchy melodies, throbbing rhythms and energetic bass lines. == Eksterne henvisninger == Thomas Bangsbo Petersen, who later on became their manager, was one of the first people that believed in them, and kept telling them that they could make it big! The kind of enthusiasm Thomas radiated, rubbed off on Ole and Dan, and they started to believe in the project... And still do to this date! The first time they gave it a shot, was in 2008 under the name "The Dolby Experiment". But in hindsight, they weren´t completely ready for it yet, so unfortunately it fell apart. But Thomas refused to give up and that's what makes him so great. So the story of Vaylon, and the second chapter of Ole and Dan´s music adventure, begins in December 2010, where Thomas was able to land them a record deal, with a small label called "Diversity music", whom had Ronnie Tange-Trentemøller, A.k.a: Alias, behind the wheel. Things really started to go fast now, and before they knew it, 3 live concerts had been arranged. One of those concerts, were in Forum, which is one of the biggest stages in Denmark. Vaylon was going to warm up for such household names as: Johnny Logan, Dr. Alban, Zindy, Kid Creole and the Coconuts and The Antonelli Orchestra. {{Commonskat\|Military bands}} The guys realized that they needed to get a good live setup going, and they started to look for another live keyboardplayer and a drummer. Emil Breum, was hired for the first concert, but due to the setup being better rounded with just Ole, Dan and the drummer, they decided to go their separate ways. [[Kategori:Musikgrupper\| ]] The drummer they found, was actually Ole´s little Brother, Michael Hurup Jensen. He had recently bought a state of the art digital drumset, as was eager to try and play along to the band's songs. After a quick audition, they decided to take Michael on for a trial. They soon realized that that his way of playing the drums, was exactly what they were looking for, and it didn´t take them many weeks to make him a steady member of Vaylon, even though the plan only was, to have him on as a live drummer. [[af:Musiekgroep]] ~~Since then, they practiced together for a long time, and really started to swing well together, and the concerts were just around the corner.~~ [[ast:Banda (música)]] [[br:Strollad sonerien]] The first concert was held the 16th of April 2011, at the release party of Vaylon´s first single: "Waves Unfold" The concert packed a full house, and people were thrilled. In the next month, they played 2 concerts more, including the before named gig at Forum, in front of 3000 people.
