Grønlands Landsråd
Hi Batmacumba, excuse me for writing in English, I don't speak Danish (I read it with the aid of Google translate). I'm referring to the information in [Grønlands Landsråd]], that 63 kommuneråd (municipal councils) were formed. I found elsewhere that the formation of municipal councils occurred in 1925. Where did you get the information that those were exactly 63 councils? This is a number much higher than the original 16 municipalities of West Greenland that were created by the reform of 1950, and therefore included all but the smallest settlements. Do you have a list of the 63 councils, perhaps by district? Greetings,--Ratzer (diskussion) 27. jul 2016, 09:10 (CEST)

:I can not remember the exact source, but any decent history of Greenland would have the info. Forstanderskaber with trappers and Danish officials where introduced in 1862/63. The Administration Act of 1908 ("Styrelsesloven") separated trade and administration and Greenlandic men who weren't hunters/trappers also got the vote to the new municipal councils. The Landsråd only functioned from 1911. The 1925 law was a revision of 1908, not a radical change.

This text from the Greenlandic government describes the proces and contains the info you need sourced. Though it says there were 62 municipalities in 1908 and that "ca. 62" municipalities were reduced to 16 in 1950 (at the start of the big modernization era in Greenland). It was 63 at one point (which the ca. 62 also implies). I have no list of the municipalities and a few likely changed borders.
