Hello, after working a few days without a bot flag with the Interwiki-bot, I'd like to get a bot flag. I use a manually controlled Interwiki-bot, based on Dutch pages (nl:). I mainly focus on pages that are not widely interwikied. I can read some Swedish, which allows me to understand a fair bit of Danish, enough to use the bot on da: responsibly. JhsBot er på alle de skandinaviske wikipedier; det eneste den gjør er å legge inn interwikilenker, med mindre man vil at den skal gjøre noe annet (flytte en kategori e.l.). Jeg er ofte på irc, Jhs på #wikipedia-da, så om noe skulle gå galt med botten vil jeg være der så den kan stoppes. Botten kjører på pywikipedias interwiki.py. Hi, I'm a user from the Dutch wiki, and I would like a bot flag to run my interwiki-bot TuvicBot (using Pywikipedia). This bot will run in manually assisted mode, adding and updating interwiki-links, using the Dutch wiki as a starting point. Ah, reaction :-) ! To reply: I'm running the bot on articles in the nl-wiki, and try to solve ambigious interwikis. I agree with you that the understanding of language is necessary to disambiguate interwikis about very similar subjects in a certain language, for example, 'da'. But, knowledge of the language is mostly not necessary: people make very stupid interwikis all the time (so I've learned, over the past time), like making a typo in the year of the Olympics or so. Easy to solve for a human, but gets skipped by a autonomous bot. So, for most interwikis, 'knowledge' of the language is not necessary. I can however partially understand the language here, but if I would come across an ambigious interwiki where the problem is this wiki, and it's not an obvious one, than I would give my bot the order to give up on the interwiki. I don't have to solve everything, you know.
About Thijsbot: yes, maybe he's doing the same, but that's really not an objection, as I see it: people do the same on Wikipedia every day, and it can't hurt to have some more manpower. --Tuvic 18. jul 2006 kl. 17:31 (CEST)

About the interwiki-link-checker: no, that does not the same thing. The interwiki-link-checker is for checking articles with the same name, if they handle about the same thing. What I do is the following: I choose a page to process, and order my bot to start: it then checks the page, finds any interwikis, and checks those, giving potentially new interwikis, checking those again, ... When there's nothing more to check, the bot makes up a result and then adds interwikis to all the languages, if the interwikis are niet ambigious, but ask what to do when they are ambigious.I then try to solve the the ambiguity, using the graph, and looking at the articles. I'm an active user and sysop on nl: and I'll work on adding interwiki's on nds-nl:. However to minimize the server load I'd like to add backlinks from other wikipedia's to nds-nl as well. So other bots don't have to load the same pages again. The bot will always run manually assisted. TARBOT redigér

Hi, I am an admin at arabic wiki (ar:user:Tarawneh), and I am a very active user at commons. I have been running the interwiki bot on all arabic projects for a few months, but we need to have the links on other wikis, so we need to run the TARBOT bot here, so I am requesting bot flag for it. The bot will only be used to run interwiki.py (Nothing else). The bot will start from arabic wiki.

The problem we face is when an old miss-linked articles are found. Such situations takes 20 min's some times to fix, and then If the wrong link remains on one of the wikis that we don't have an account on, then there is a good chance that work in delinking the wrong interwikis will be lost. So the more accounts we have on the wikis, the better the chance that the miss-link will never comeback.
