Orchid images from Haarby

Its about these images of orchids on commons:

They come from somebody in Denmark and the homepage they come from is not active anymore (but is up on archive.org)

The permission is not good enough. It just says: you can use the images. So I tried to email the owner. The email was dead. Then I got a phonenumber and luckily the person spoke (some) english. His brother, who did all those images died half a year ago. He is fine with the images on commons. (so I have a verbal permission of the brother)

Now, we have some the lowres images (about 150) . His brother told me, that the (untouched) computer is still there with about 4000 highres images of plants and orchids and he would be happy to donate them but he has no idea of computers. So I asked him, if I could ask someone from Denmark living close to him to get the images and he said: sure, I dont work anymore so I am at home all the time..... Now my question is, who can I ask and do you think somebody is willing to do that? The person lives near Haarby and he really is a nice guy so I would hope that a nice person goes to collect them. I'm Odense and have a passable bus connection (around 1h one way). But at least until the 10th of December I'm working, so I could only go in the evening or on weekends. I can do do it if there's nobody closer, but I'll wait to see other candidates. Mathrick 16. nov 2010, 13:48 (CET)

First, we need to make sure that "we" get a sufficient permission: 1. The brother must confirm that he is the only heir or get permission from the other heirs to publish the photos on their behalf. All this must be written and forwarded to OTRS. 2. The brother must (after getting permission from the other heirs) explicitly publish the photos under a free license, e.g. CC-BY-SA 3.0. It is not necessary, nor sufficient to get permission to upload to Commons.

I volunteer to coordinate this and take care of proper licensing (I am member of the OTRS support team here and on Commons). In order to contact the brother and clear the licensing, I suggest that Amada44 send me all personal details via [1] (in particular the name and telephone number of the brother). I can't go to Haarby myself so it would be great if Bruger:Mathrick could go when I have cleared the licensing. Nillerdk 16. nov 2010, 17:38 (CET)

Jeg har endeligt fået kontaktet Bent. Han er fotograf eller enearving (efter Arne) til samtlige orkidefotografier og han ønsker at udgive dem under CC-BY-SA 3.0 licensen med kreditering til "Arne og Bent Larsen" eller "A./B. Larsen". Fotografierne er taget mellem 1991-2010. Online var senest ca. 1065, alle klassificerede. Billederne er tidligere blevet skænket til den danske orkideklub og passede på 2 CD'er. Endnu har Bent 800 orkideer i drivhus - den største samling på Fyn. Der findes et større antal ringbind med negativer og papirbilleder, men Bent mener, at det vil være et for stort arbejde, at håndtere papirbillederne. Jeg forbereder en erklæring, som Bent kan underskrive for at udgive billederne. Hvem vil tage ud til ham i Haarby for at kopiere materialet fra den gamle server? Nillerdk 25. nov 2010, 18:48 (CET)
