ไทย: วันที่ 7 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2496 พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวและสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินีนาถ เสด็จพระราชดำเนินทรงปล่อยปลาหมอเทศซึ่งโปรดเกล้าฯ ให้จับจากบ่อเลี้ยงส่วนพระองค์ในบริเวณพระตำหนักจิตรลดารโหฐาน ลงในบ่อหน้ากรมประมง ใกล้บริเวณที่ตั้งศาลาหกเหลี่ยมในปัจจุบัน โดยมี นายบุญ อินทรัมพรรย์ อธิบดีกรมประมงเฝ้ารับเสด็จฯ ในโอกาสเดียวกันนี้ หลวงสุวรรณวาจกกสิกิจ อธิบดีกรมมหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์เข้าเฝ้าฯ รับพระราชทานเหรียญรัตนาภรณ์ ชั้น 3 หลังจากที่นายบุญ อินทรัมพรรย์ อธิบดีกรมประมงเข้ารับพระราชทานเหรียญรัตนาภรณ์ ชั้น 4 แล้ว นอกจากนั้นยังโปรดเกล้าฯ พระราชทานพันธุ์ปลาหมอเทศแก่ตัวแทนประชาชนทุกหมู่เหล่า นางสาวดารา กัณหะสุวรรณ เป็นตัวแทนนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์เข้ารับพระราชทานด้วย
