Hansen is [[European Men's Handball Championship|European Champion]] with the Danes, after winning the [[2012 European Men's Handball Championship|2012 Championship]] in [[Serbia]], defeating the [[Serbia national handball team|host nation]] in the final, 21–19. Also, he won the silver medal at the [[World Men's Handball Championship]] in 2013 in [[Spain]] (after losing to Spain 35–19) and in 2011 in [[Sweden]] (after losing to France in the overtime 35–37)
