Image suggestions redigér

Hi all,

some time back I worked on Wikidata Images which added images to 1300 pages. It was however limited to articles with a template on them and I could only check 30.000 out of 190.000 pages. I am currently working with our Swedish colleague Lsj (Wall Street Journal) on the Dutch Wikipedia on image suggestions. This project does not have any restrictions but can cover all pages. I would like to introduce this here.

In short it means:

  • We find articles without images, but with an image on other Wikipedias
  • A bot puts image suggestions on the talkpage (example)
  • All talkpages go into a category where they can be found easily (example)
  • Everyone can help add images to the pages
  • All images are from Commons, hard limit on amount of image suggestions, every single image suggestions is checked and removed
  • The message on the talkpage explains how to add the image, that you can delete the botmessage, and delete the talk page if it is empty (and also explains that not every page needs an image)

So on the Dutch Wikipedia we started 4 days ago. We now have 5000 image suggestions, we checked 1800 and have added about 900 images [1] [2] [3] (~50% usefull suggestions). Please let me know what you think.

Excellent proposal. It would be fine to have dawp included in the project. --Pugilist (diskussion) 17. jan 2015, 16:08 (CET)
