Hej. Mvh. Cgt (diskussion) 7. jul 2015, 19:22 (CEST)
Af/på
redigérHi Native, I just want to inform you that when we're talking about population (indbyggertal) it's på (on) not af (of). Alright? Greetings from Pyrros (diskussion) 9. jul 2015, 18:57 (CEST) ;)
- Thanks very much for all your help and this is all helping me a lot to learn Danish. :) NativeCat (diskussion) 9. jul 2015, 19:20 (CEST)
- No problem. I have "summer holiday" ," because it's freezing, anyways, so why not be a bit more active on wikipedia and help you? ;) Greetings Pyrros (diskussion) 9. jul 2015, 19:36 (CEST)
Sources
redigérHi. Please remember to add sources to your articles, so other readers can verify and/or read more about the subjects. Regards Knud Winckelmann (diskussion) 10. jul 2015, 09:17 (CEST)
- Hi. Please remember the above on all your articles. And please review the sources, so we're sure that they support the articles. Regards Knud Winckelmann (diskussion) 12. jul 2015, 12:26 (CEST)
- Hi again. Could you please state the sources in your new articles? As they are of a more obscure sort, i.e. american places, that most europeans know nothing about, it becomes even more crucial that some sort of sourcing is provided, so that other editors can work on the articles. Regards Knud Winckelmann (diskussion) 22. jul 2015, 12:42 (CEST)

County seat

- Hi! I was just about to make an article for county seat, so you have come just in time. I have searched many places, and en:county seat's interwiki links do not include a Danish article, as you can see also the link for "county seat" is red also, and I looked up all the terms Pyrros just did technical translations for, and none of them had articles on Den Danske Ordbog.
- County seat is a term mainly used in the United States and Canada to define administrative cities/towns of a county. The funny thing is that on dawiki we often use English titles for our articles if the Danish language does not have a specific name for the subject. For instance, we already are using the term county (even inflecting the noun county as counties, see Kategori:Counties i South Carolina). If we are just going to use the English term "county" to define a county in the Danish Wikipedia, why not also take "county seat" straight from English as well? In my opinion also, the terms that PHansen mentioned may not be more commonly used than the term "county seat" itself, plus "county seat" is the original English term, and the original term in English in this case is more important than the technical Danish translation, since Denmark does not have counties, thus it does not either have county seats. Furthermore, when I create the article, I will personally title it "county seat", if anyone has an opposition to change the name, I'm more than open to listen to your opinions as well.
- I see, NativeCat. You might be right, and I think you have a point, but when you search for https://www.google.dk/#q=county+seat+site:da.wikipedia.org it'll show you a number of different translations, e.g.: administrative hovedstad, administrative centrum, Administrationscentrum, amtshovedstad, administrative hovedby. Pyrros (diskussion) 27. jul 2015, 14:53 (CEST)
Google? Pyrros (diskussion) 27. jul 2015, 15:58 (CEST)
- I see your points. The only issue is that the translations like what PHansen has given (forgive me if I'm wrong, Danish is not my mother tongue) seem to be more generalized terms. For instance, administrationsby could potentially mean "any city that is for administration", which is not what county seat in English means. County seat is a term very specifically meant to refer to counties, a term that, as I have said before, is apparently, according to our article, is a word that is not able to be translated to Danish. My point is, if someone wants the article name to be changed to a Danish translation, there needs to be a translation that is specific to counties and counties only. I do not think that there is a Danish translation specifically for this. NativeCat (diskussion) 27. jul 2015, 18:57 (CEST)

Easley High School
--Harthacnut (diskussion) 27. jul 2015, 19:47 (CEST)
